The Garment of Peace

Have you ever felt peace envelop you like a warm garment? It's an experience that's hard to put into words, but it's one that's worth having. This spiritual reality can't be fully explained; it must be experienced firsthand. How can someone be so filled with peace that it feels like they're wrapped in it?

Have you ever been in a situation where you know that there is no way out but then the word of God drops in your spirit and the revelation of it silences every fear? And suddenly you are peaceful, bold, and declaring victory.

This doesn't happen to everyone, but to those who receive and continue to receive revelation from God's Word. When challenges come, these revelations silence every fear.

Being clothed with peace doesn't mean you're free from trouble, but that in the midst of turbulence, you're unmoved. It shows you trust God's Word and don't rely on your own strength or understanding.

As Proverbs 3:5-6 (ESV) says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."

The three Hebrew boys, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, had a mindset that said, "God or nothing." They boldly told the king they wouldn't bow to his statue. Peter and John, after healing the crippled man, asked their accusers, "Who do we obey? God or you?" (Acts 4:19-20)

2 Timothy 1:7 says, "God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control." The peace of God births audacity and strengthens your spirit in daring situations. The secret to this is having God's Word in your spirit without measure.

Paul's prayer to the Philippians says, "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:7 ESV).

My prayer for you today is that when the revelation of God's Word is revealed, you'll be clothed with peace and have the audacity to tell the storm, "Peace, be still."
